Fellowship

The opportunities at First to get involved and develop relationships that go beyond our regular Sunday morning worship services are many.  They include:

§     Bread Breakers—a relatively new endeavor where families and friends meet in small groups in the home of a host for dinner and a little “beyond theology” discussion.

§        Monthly Cottage Gatherings—where people offer input and direction regarding the direction, governance and ministries of our church.  Our Mission Statement (found on a separate page) grew out of a series of such meetings; so did our “Open & Affirming” Statement.

§        Mayflower and Brewster Circles have a rich history at First.  While Brewster no longer meets on a regular basis, Mayflower Circle continues to offer a monthly program either at the church or in a member’s home

§        First hosts a variety of book groups—the Contemporary Literature Reading Group (which meets monthly on Sunday evenings), the weekly Tuesday Cultural Criticism Book Group (which always includes breakfast), and the 1st and 3rd Thursdays Spiritual Growth Book Group.

§         Primetimer's Dinner-time and Primetimer's Wine-time are new programs targeted at older adults 55+.  They meet on the 3rd and 4th Thursdays, respectively.

§     One new idea is a group called Reel People Movie Club that we hope to also begin in the fall of 2010.  It will be open to anyone who has an interest in getting together and taking in the latest movies at local theaters.  Written reports will never be required afterward.  This group is all about fun!

§        Two other new groups slated for 2010 are a Green Singles Group and an LGBT Support Group.  This is being offered in addition to the local PFLAG chapter which already meets monthly at the Montana-Northern Wyoming Conference building.  Call the church for more information.

§        Other fellowship activities include our Coffee & Conversation time before and after every Sunday service, our monthly Second Sunday Lunch, and the annual All-Church Picnic at North Park.
