First Church is blessed with arguably the finest musicians and church music program anywhere in the city—perhaps in all of Montana!
§ Our Chancel Choir meets for rehearsal September through May on Wednesday evenings at 7:30 p.m. in the Choir Room. Anyone with singing ability is encouraged to join the group, from teens up. Laura Blodgett, a long-time music educator for Billings’ USD2, is our Choral Director. First church pastoral musician Barbara Dobesh has offered a strong ministry at the organ and piano for close to 30 years, while Steve Plaggemeyer is our Assistant at Organ and Piano.

§ Melody Choir is our children’s choir and is led by Jo Lokken. Melody Choir meets at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday mornings for rehearsal and typically sings in the 11 o’clock service of worship the second Sunday of every month. Children Pre-K through 4th Grade are invited to participate in Melody Choir.

§ Our hand bell choir, although currently without a director, is lovingly referred to as F.R.O.G.S, “Faith Ringers of God.” F.R.O.G.S has a long tradition of outstanding holiday performances.
